This is the first step of clearing the jungle lots so that we can use the land for building and gardens. We use a small dozer to clear the underbrush. Subsequent to that we cut the small and medium sized trees that need to be cleared and finally decide on which large trees can stay and which ones need to be cut to clear enough room for the buildings and gardens.

The other months are generally overcast and chilly (chilly by South American standards). This is the Miraflores area of Lima where there are plenty of parks and hotels but the parks go all they way up and down the coast for miles either way.
